Crusaders third, Jays 7th at Helias Invitational

The Helias Crusaders took third place and the Jefferson City Jays finished in seventh in the large-school division Monday in the Helias Invitational at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.

Helias shot 347 and Jefferson City shot 379 in the eight-team event. Rock Bridge took the team title with 314 and the Bruins' JV squad took second with 345.

Marshall was fourth with 352, Hickman took fifth with 359, Moberly finished sixth with 370 and Sedalia Smith-Cotton rounded out the large-school field with 383.

Brett Griggs highlighted the Crusaders' day with an 81, good enough for fourth overall. Austin Smith shot 84, Nick Rehagen carded an 88 and Michael Kehoe finished at 94.

Travis Roberts led the Jays with a 91, Andrew Hansen carded a 93, Jamison Moore shot 97 and David Anderson finished at 98.

The Crusaders and Jays are back in action Wednesday at the Laker Invitational at Old Kinderhook in Camdenton.
