JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt says he has completed one of his goals as Missouri's newest senator - to visit every county in the state.
Blunt, a Republican, took office in January 2011 after winning an election to succeed retired Sen. Kit Bond. Blunt said it took him about 15 months to complete his official visits to all 114 counties and the city of St. Louis. He finished the last of those events this week.
This marks the second time Blunt has made the rounds of every Missouri county. He did the same thing while campaigning for the Senate.
