Judge Quigless appointed to Mo. appeals court

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has appointed a St. Louis trial judge to serve on the state Court of Appeals.

Circuit Judge Angela Quigless was appointed Thursday to fill the vacancy on the court's Eastern District created by Judge George Draper's elevation to the state Supreme Court last October.

Quigless first was appointed as an associate circuit judge in St. Louis in 1995. She was appointed as a circuit judge in 2003.

Before becoming a judge, Quigless worked as an attorney for the Missouri Department of Revenue and the state Public Service Commission. She also served as an assistant circuit attorney in St. Louis and as an assistant U.S. attorney.

She was one of three candidate submitted to Nixon by a special judicial nominating commission.
