Second man sentenced in 2011 shooting death

A second Jefferson City man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with the death of a man who was shot in a March 2011 confrontation over a woman.

Terrell Edwards, 29, of 316 Cherry St., pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of shooting a firearm from a vehicle at another vehicle with a person inside, resulting in the death of Cortez Bellamy, 24.

The sentence was part of a plea agreement with the Cole County prosecutor's office.

Last week, Rondric Hunt, 25, of 312 E. Dunklin St., was also sentenced to 10 years in prison for pleading guilty to the same charge.
