Ex-Mo. soldier sentenced in husband's death

WAYNESVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A former Fort Leonard Wood soldier has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the shooting death of her husband.

Stacy Powell pleaded guilty in March to voluntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in the March 2008 shooting death of 42-year-old Brian Powell while she was home on leave in Dixon.

KY3-TV reports the couple was getting a divorce at the time of the shooting. Powell was originally charged with first-degree murder but the charges were reduced as part of a plea deal.
