Anonymous tip yields arrest of two Mid-Missourians

An anonymous tip resulted in the arrest two Mid-Missouri men Monday. Authorities confiscated drugs, nearly $20,000 in cash and dozens of firearms in the bust.

Officers with the Moniteau County Sheriff's Department and the Mid-Mo Drug Task Force searched the Russellville residence and shop of Allen L. Libbert, 39, on Hidden Valley Road in the southeastern part of Moniteau County.

While searching the shop, authorities found Philip B. Hedges, 21, California, hiding. Hedges admitted to officers he had an illegal marijuana pipe and baggies of methamphetamine, according to court filings.

In a subsequent search of the area, officers found a meth pipe, digital scales, crystal meth, cash and firearms. The meth amounted to about 90 grams, with an estimated street value of more than $10,000. Also found was more than $19,000 cash and two dozen firearms.

Three of the firearms - two pistols and a black powder revolver - were identified as stolen.

Hedges was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $25,000.

Libbert wass charged with felony distributing a controlled substance and three charges of felony receiving stolen property for the firearms. His bond was set at $150,000.
