ST. LOUIS - William Woods' Ryan Meyer set a school record during the Owls' performance Saturday at the Washington University Invitational.

Meyer (Linn High School) posted his mark while finishing fifth in the 10,000-meter run in a time of 30:57.93. That took more than a minute off the school record.

The time also qualified Meyer for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and it's currently the second-fastest NAIA time in the nation.

Also at the event, Tanner Edwards (Tipton High School) was part of a school record time in the 4x400-meter relay, as the Owls' time of 3:17.85 was good enough for third place.

Edwards also finished eighth in the 400-meter dash (49.91).

On the women's side, Alex Apperson (Eldon High School) was part of the William Woods 4x400-meter relay team that took fifth (4:04.27).

Also at the event, Central Methodist's Rebeca Barajas (Southern Boone High School) took fifth in the heptathlon (4,267).
