Tuesday's NHL Preseason Capsules

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Carlo Colaiacovo scored with 1:09 to play to give the St. Louis Blues a 4-3 preseason win over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night.

Matt D'Agostini of the Blues tied the game at 3 with a power-play goal with 7:30 left in the third period.

Scott Nichol, who returned from offseason surgery to repair a torn labrum, and Patrik Berglund also scored for St. Louis (4-2).

Marek Zidlicky, Mikko Koivu and Brett Bulmer scored for the Wild (3-2), which led 3-1 early in the second.

Newcomers Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi both had two assists for Minnesota.

Bulmer replaced Brad Staubitz, who will miss the rest of the preseason and the first three regular season games after being suspended by the NHL for his boarding major against Columbus on Friday.

Maple Leafs 5, Senators 3

OTTAWA (AP) - Mikhail Grabovski had a goal and two assists and Darryl Boyce and Clarke MacArthur scored in the third to lead Toronto over Ottawa.

Boyce's goal 1:35 into the third gave Toronto its first lead, 4-3. Grabovski set up MacArthur's goal for his third point with 1:57 remaining. He also scored a short-handed goal 14:31 in to help Toronto overcome a 2-0 deficit and assisted on Nikolai Kulemin's tally, which drew Toronto even at 3 at 12:05 of the second.

John-Michael Liles' power-play goal 18:11 into the first tied it at 2. James Reimer stopped 32 shots for Toronto, which evened its record at 3-3.

Nick Foligno's goal 18:32 into the first put Ottawa up 3-2. Mika Zibanejad and Zack Smith also scored for the Senators (2-3-1) as the provincial rivals combined for five goals in the second half of the opening period.

Penguins 3, Kings 2, SO

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Matt Niskanen scored in the eighth round of the shootout to lift Pittsburgh past Los Angeles.

Los Angeles defenseman Alec Martinez tied the game at 2-2 with a power-play goal at 13:43 of the third.

Evgeni Malkin deked Jonathan Bernier to the left in the first round of the shootout, but Jarret Stoll kept the Kings alive when he snapped a wrister past Marc-Andre Fleury.

Bernier finished with 39 saves and Fleury had 19.

Pittsburgh's Deryk Engelland and Chris Kunitz scored in the third period to give the Penguins a 2-1 lead.

Jarret Stoll opened the scoring for the Kings at 4:31 of the first period.

Stars 4, Panthers 3, OT

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Michael Ryder scored 1:11 into overtime to give Dallas a victory over Florida.

Tomas Vincour, Loui Eriksson and Toby Petersen also scored for the Stars (4-1).

Tomas Fleischmann, Jonathan Huberdeau and Dmitry Kulikov scored for Florida (1-3-1).

The teams will meet again Thursday night in Dallas.

Kari Lehtonen made 43 saves for the Stars. Jakob Markstrom and Tyler Plante, who are competing for the backup goalie job with veteran Scott Clemmensen out 4 to 6 weeks after undergoing knee surgery, split the game for Florida.

Flames 2, Islanders 0

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Henrik Karlsson made 13 saves and Curtis Glencross scored and Calgary beat New York.

In his first game in an Islanders uniform, veteran goalie Evgeni Nabokov stopped 15 of 16 shots in two periods.

The 36-year-old refused to play for New York last season after the Islanders claimed him late in the year off NHL re-entry waivers, thwarting the Detroit Red Wings' attempt to sign him.

Calgary added a second goal at 4:21 of the third period when Lee Stempniak finished a two-on-one with Alex Tanguay.

Oilers 3, Coyotes 2

EDMONTON , Alberta (AP) - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Taylor Hall each had three points and Edmonton won its third consecutive preseason game.

Hall had two goals and Nugent-Hopkins scored the other for the Oilers, who improved to 4-2-0 in exhibition games.

Ray Whitney and Shane Doan scored for the Coyotes, who have lost three straight and are 2-3-0 in the preseason.
