Students who may be affected by the proposed changes to Jefferson City High School, or schools depending on what option is chosen, have created academies of their own as part of a class project.

Two years ago, Superintendent Brian Mitchell created a 40-member committee to look at the future of secondary education in the district.

Students presented their projects to school board and Board of Education members and other school officials Friday. The students, separated into groups of two to four, created academies similar to those proposed to the public.
