Saturday's WNBA Playoff Capsules

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Candace Parker scored 32 points and the Los Angeles Sparks beat the San Antonio Silver Stars 101-94 Saturday to advance to the Western Conference finals.

Kristi Toliver added 23 points, Alana Beard 17 and DeLisha Milton-Jones 10 for the Sparks (25-10), who complete a two-game sweep.

Sophia Young had 23 points for San Antonio (21-14), which took three of four from Los Angeles during the regular season. Jia Perkins added 16 points, Becky Hammon 15, Danielle Adams 12 and Shameka Christon 11.

Los Angeles advances to face the winner of the Minnesota-Seattle series. The defending WNBA champion Lynx have a 1-0 lead entering tomorrow's game at Seattle.

The Sparks advanced after surviving a furious rally in the fourth by the Silver Stars. San Antonio outscored Los Angeles 28-19 in the final quarter, but the Sparks went 7 for 8 on free throws in the final 2 minutes to seal the victory.

SUN 75, LIBERTY 62

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Tina Charles had 25 points and 14 rebounds, and Connecticut Sun closed with a 14-0 run to beat New York and advance to the Eastern Conference finals.

Asjha Jones scored 18 points and Kara Lawson had 15 to help the Sun complete the two-game sweep. Lawson had two 3-pointers late in the fourth quarter, including a four-point play that started the final spurt and gave Connecticut the lead for good.

The Sun will next face the winner of the Atlanta-Indiana series, which the Dream lead 1-0 heading into Sunday's game at home.

Connecticut hadn't won a playoff series since 2006, when they defeated Washington in the East semifinals to advance.

Cappie Pondexter scored 20 points to lead New York.
