Jefferson City Finance Director Steve Schlueter has sent a letter to Checker Cab Company saying he has approved their proposal to increase its rates.
Schlueter said city ordinance states any fares or rate changes have to be submitted and approved or declined by the finance director after a public hearing, which was held earlier this week.
