Jefferson Citian arrested in Callaway County after rollover accident

Stephen Randall Vaughan, 50, Jefferson City, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving while his license was revoked after a one-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon on Route O just southeast of Fulton.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported Vaughan was southbound on Route O just south of Callaway County Road 102 at 4 p.m. Tuesday, when the accident occurred.

The patrol said Vaughan lost control of his 2004 Dodge Ram pickup truck, which skidded, ran off the right side of the road and overturned.

Vaughan was extricated from the vehicle by firemen from the Central Fire Protection District in Fulton.

Vaughan, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Callaway Community Hospital in Fulton for treatment of injuries.

The patrol said Vaughan's vehicle was demolished.

It was Vaughan's second arrest for driving while intoxicated. On July 5, he pleaded guilty in Moniteau County Circuit Court in California, Mo., to a charge of driving while intoxicated and was placed on two years of supervised probation in connection with that charge.
