Beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jefferson City and their contractor Sam Gaines Construction will have Commercial Way closed, between Adams and Monroe Street, to continue work related to a stormwater system project.
The closure is expected to last for approximately a week and a half and the area will reopen on Friday, September 16th, construction progress and weather permitting.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Missouri American Water Co., along with their contractor Twehous Excavating, will have the eastern portion of the intersection of Jefferson Street and West Capitol Avenue closed to replace a water main.
Motorists may access the 100 block of Jefferson Street and the train station by way of W. Capitol Avenue.
The street is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. the same day, weather and construction progress permitting.
Detour signs will be posted.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
