Cole County prosecutors on Friday charged Deneze Leslie Johnson, 19, 1307A E. High St., with first-degree robbery for an Aug. 29 incident.
He's charged with stealing money from a female victim and threatening her with a weapon at her home in the 400 block of Clark Avenue.
A Jefferson City Police probable cause statement said the victim reported hearing a knock on the door of her residence around 1:50 p.m. Monday.
As she opened the door, it was kicked open by two black males, one of whom had a handgun.
The man with the gun ordered the victim further into the house, where her three small children were located, police said.
The suspects demanded marijuana and money from the victim.
But the victim told the suspects she did not have any marijuana.
One of the suspects struck the woman twice in the head with the handgun.
She told them where they could find money, and after they took it, they fled on foot.
Police said the victim identified Johnson.
In the charges, prosecutors said Johnson was convicted twice this year on unlawful use of a weapon charges - in January 2011 in Cook County, Ill., and in July in Cole County.
He was being held Friday in the Cole County Jail, without bond.
