Mid-Missouri residents again this year will have lots of Halloween and fall-themed events to choose from, with many being more family oriented or Christ-centered than creepy.
The events start this weekend and go through Halloween, Oct. 31:
Friday, Oct. 21

Saturday, Oct. 22

• Washington Park Ice Arena Halloween Fire on Ice, 8-9:30 p.m., costume contest, hot music, sizzling lights, games and prizes. The public can come dressed in a Halloween costume and enter the costume contest for prizes. Adult admission is $4, youth is $3 and skate rental in $2.
Saturday, Oct. 29

• Trunk or Treat and Hayrides, 5-7 p.m., Wesley United Methodist Church, Missouri 179 and Wesley Drive.
• Concert featuring Surge (Christian Fellowship of Jefferson City worship band) and Light Up the Darkness, 6-9 p.m., Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1529 Southwest Blvd. Admission is one non-perishable canned food item.
Sunday, Oct. 30
