Missouri River management meeting planned

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a meeting in Jefferson City as part of a series of public meetings to discuss the 2011-12 draft Annual Operating Plan for the Missouri River Mainstem Reservoir System.

The Jefferson City meeting will be held Thursday at Capitol Plaza Hotel.

An afternoon open house will be held from 1-4 p.m. The informal session includes displays and the chance for members of the public to speak one-on-one with Corps officials regarding the 2011 flood and plans for operating the reservoir system in 2012.

The evening public meeting will be held at 7 p.m. and will include a presentation on this year's operation of the dams and reservoirs, as well as plans for next year's operation. Attendees will also be able to comment on the draft plan and ask questions about current and future operations.
