Kody Walker injures shin

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino says freshman running back Kody Walker has had surgery to repair a stress fracture in his shin.

Petrino didn't indicate Wednesday how many games Walker would miss for the No. 10 Razorbacks. He only said it "will take a while for that to heal."

The former Jefferson City Jay has five touchdowns this seasons, gaining 68 yards on 20 carries. He hasn't had a carry since the Razorbacks' third game against Troy.

Arkansas opens the second half of its season when it travels to Mississippi on Saturday.
