SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A southwest Missouri man convicted of weapons violations and conspiring to distribute methamphetamine is going to prison.
The U.S. Attorney's office says 26-year-old Roberto Rodriguez, of Monett, was sentenced Wednesday to 24 years and four months in federal prison.
Rodriguez was found guilty earlier this year of conspiring to sell meth in Barry County from October 2009 to February 2010. He was also convicted of possessing more than 50 grams of the drug and maintaining a residence in Monett for using and distributing meth.
Prosecutors said Rodriguez also possessed two handguns and a shotgun. The guns were illegal because Rodriguez had a felony record.
