With the recent stretch of warm fall weather, the Jefferson City Fire Department would like to remind residents that the legal time to do open burning of leaves, grass clippings and vegetation grown on their property won't begin until next month.
By city ordinance, open burning is permitted from Nov. 15 through March 15 during daylight hours only.
Violators of the ordinance are subject to citations.
