Mayer: Special session should end next week

Missouri lawmakers' special session on jobs likely will be over by next Tuesday night, with or without a final bill, Senate President Pro Tem Rob Mayer said Tuesday afternoon, shortly after meeting with other Senate Republicans in an hour-long caucus.

He said the caucus decided they want to try, one more time, "to get an economic development bill done."

In a less-than-2-minute technical session following the caucus, the Senate adjourned until 4 p.m. next Monday, after receiving the House message that it had changed the Senate-passed bill aimed at bringing more jobs to Missouri.
