Conservation Department awards tree grants

The Missouri Department of Conservation awarded more than $306,000 to several Missouri communities through its Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance (TRIM) cost-share grant program for 2011.

Area cities and educational institutions to receive grants include:

  • California, $6,650 for education and tree removal and planting at city parks;

  • Fulton, $10,000 for education and downtown tree removal, pruning and planting;

  • Hermann, $10,000 for education and tree inventory of public streets and parks; and

  • Lincoln University, $5,062 for campus tree removal and planting.
