Area sheriffs make arrests against burglary ring

Three more arrests were made recently in connection with a multiple-county theft ring Callaway and Audrain county officials have been working to crack.

In custody Monday at Callaway County Jail were Ashleigh L. Jeffries, 27, of Fulton, John D. Branham, 31, of Auxvasse, and Jennifer L. Wiseman, 33, of Fulton. The three are  charged with receiving stolen property and other charges. Two Auxvasse residents - Jay Hager and Cassandra Bolton - were arrested Sept. 13 in connection with the burglary ring.

Jeffries was arrested on Sept. 29 on charges of receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia (meth) and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). She is being held on a cash bond of $25,000 out of Callaway and a $135,000 bond out of Audrain. She also faces Audrain charges of burglary in the first degree, property damage, six counts of stealing and two counts of tampering with a vehicle.

Branham and Wiseman were arrested on Sept. 26. Branham faces two counts of receiving stolen property and unlawful possession of a firearm. He is being held on a $25,000 cash bond.
