JC man arrested after two burglaries

A Jefferson City man has been arrested in connection with two burglary cases.

According to police reports, police were dispatched about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday to an alarm at Gas Plus, 501 E. McCarty St.

Officers arrived at the scene and located a suspect leaving the area of the business.

After making contact with him, officers were able to determine he had thrown an object through the window of the business and entered in an attempt to steal items.

In a similar burglary some time earlier at the Madison Street parking garage, the same suspect was implicated as he broke through the glass at the booth and entered.

The suspect, a 35-year-old Jefferson City resident, was arrested for two counts of second-degree burglary, one count of first-degree property destruction and one count of second-degree property destruction.

The name of the suspect was not released, pending the filing of formal charges.
