The Jefferson City Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department has requested action on a Transportation Improvement Program, or TIP, amendment to address the city greenway system.

At the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization board of directors meeting Wednesday, Bill Lockwood, department director, said the amendment presented was for an extension of the east branch of the greenway trail, which has always been part of the Greenway Master Plan.

The total cost of the project is listed as $880,049, and, if approved, is expected to be completed in 2012.
