Home of murdered Mo. couple scene of fire

CRANE, Mo. (AP) - The state fire marshal's office is investigating a fire at the home of a southwest Missouri couple who was murdered earlier this year.

The fire was reported Monday morning at the home of Rusty and Rebecca Porter. Greene County sheriff Jim Arnott says a man living in the home escaped without injury.

The Porters disappeared from their home near Willard in April. Their bodies were found in Taney County in July. They had each been shot in the head. Their deaths have been declared homicides. No one has been charged or arrested in the case.

KY3-TV reports that two Greene County detectives and an arson investigator were also at the scene of the fire.

Arnott says most of the damage was around the chimney.
