CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - It was the volleyball equivalent of a well-earned vacation day.

After showcasing some laser-sharp focus in the first five games of pool play at the Class 2 Final Four, the Fatima Lady Comets finally stumbled a bit in their final one - but only because it no longer mattered.

By the time the Lady Comets took a 25-21 win in the opening game with Clever in their final match Friday, Fatima had locked up a spot in today's noon championship match.

So while the Lady Comets ended the day with a 25-20 loss to the Lady Jays, you couldn't find a single person complaining.

Fatima ended 4-2 in pool play - sweeping St. Paul Lutheran to start before splitting with St. Pius X: Festus and Clever - to earn the Lady Comets (33-2-4) a title showdown with St. Pius X (27-6-7).
