COLUMBIA, Mo. - With their backs against the wall and their softball season on the line, the Missouri Tigers came out swinging Sunday.
Facing a pair of elimination games against DePaul in the Columbia Regional, the Tigers won the opener 7-3 before routing the Blue Demons 8-0 in six innings in the championship game as Chelsea Thomas twirled a no-hitter.
With the victories, No. 5 seed Missouri will face No. 12 Washington in the NCAA Super Regional. The Tigers will host the series, which opens at 8 p.m. Saturday (ESPN2-TV).
