Three charged with drug offenses

Three people have been charged in connection with narcotics search warrants that were served Wednesday in Jefferson City.

According to authorities, the Jefferson City Police Department SWAT team, in coordination with the MUSTANG Drug Task Force and with the assistance of the Cole County Sheriff's Department SWAT team, carried out several narcotics search warrants throughout the Jefferson City area.

Throughout the day, four warrants were served.

• The first two were served at neighboring homes in the 200 block of Olive Street.

During those warrant services, Lyman Grant Jr., 19, Jefferson City, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Crack cocaine, marijuana, packaging materials and suspected drug money were seized as a result of these two warrants.

• The third warrant was served in the 1000 block of East Elm. Heroin, marijuana and packaging materials were seized from the residence.

• The fourth warrant was served in the 1100 block of Madeline Place. Two suspects - Rodney Parham, 28, Jefferson City, and Walletta Bynum, 29, Jefferson City - were taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Marijuana, suspected drug money, and packaging materials were seized.

As of Thursday, all three of those charged in these cases were being held in the Cole County Jail.
