School offers reward for ID of pool pranksters

TROY, Mo. (AP) - Officials at Troy Buchanan High School have offered a reward for information leading to the culprits of a prank that caused $15,000 damage to a floor.

The Lincoln County Sheriff is investigating the prank in which someone constructed a swimming pool inside the school's commons late May 5 or early May 6 and filled it with water.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the pranksters hooked up a hose to fill the pool and left it running.

District spokeswoman April Bryant says the $15,000 repair bill comes at a time when the district has cut $6 million from its budget in the last two years. Taxpayers approved a rate increase to restore about $3.3 million of those cuts.

Gov. Jay Nixon is speaking at the school's graduation on Sunday.
