Your Opinion: Response on racial issues

Dear Editor:

The race to call me a racist appears to still be on. Unlike Geraldean McMillin, I do judge people for what they do. I also think she is a very nice person wanting to have everybody get along, which would be nice.

Ms. McMillin if you will take the time to again read what I printed, I said Lincoln University was not the problem but an asset to the community. Black-on-black crime is a problem. Unlike you, I am influenced by the facts and the facts lead me to that conclusion.

Then there is Robert Haslag who is perfectly contented to have the government solve all his problems. I don't need his assistance in helping the community. Unlike Haslag I have been involved in community projects to help for over 30 years, donating my time and finances to help all less fortunate citizens of Cole and the surrounding counties. These charity organizations do not directly address black-on-black crime.

Years of affirmative action, government interference and welfare has done absolutely nothing to alleviate the problems faced in the black community. My thoughts are, if this is not working you have to change the plan and attack it another way. I believe this can best be done by the very people that are part of that community core.

Your bluff Haslag has been called. Now what do you contribute other than huff and puff for a failed president and for failed government policies?
