Liquor-licensed businesses get smoking advisory

Jefferson City plans to warn businesses with liquor licenses that it intends to be vigilant about checking on compliance for the city's smoking ordinance.

The city Liquor Control Board has voted to send out letters to the more than 200 businesses that have liquor licenses.

Under the smoking ordinance, businesses could eventually lose their liquor licenses if they are found to be in violation.
