2 teens charged with stealing phone after dragging woman

Two Jefferson City teenagers have been charged in connection with a robbery, in which the female victim was dragged for a distance by a vehicle.

According to court documents, Zaquan Brewer, 17, of 1104 E. Atchison, and Latrail Grant, 17, of 211 Olive St., are each charged with one count of second-degree robbery.

As of Monday afternoon, Brewer and Grant were both being held in the Cole County Jail, each on $100,000 bond.

According to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement, Grant took the victim's iPhone on Friday afternoon in the 700 block of East Miller Street.

She said Grant took her phone and wouldn't give it back to her. She said she attempted to grab the phone back as a vehicle, driven by Brewer, drove away. The victim was hanging out the window of the vehicle and said she was scared for her life as she was being dragged down the street.
