Rock Records marks 30 years at Beijing Bird's Nest

BEIJING (AP) - One of Chinese pop's top record companies has marked its 30th anniversary with a star-studded concert at Beijing's Bird's Nest Stadium.

Founded in 1980 by Taiwanese brothers Sam and Johnny Duan, Rock Records has become one of the Chinese-language music industry's top labels. After marking 30 years with two concerts in the Taiwanese capital in November, Rock Records artists convened again in the mainland Chinese capital on Sunday for a third concert.

Taking the stage at the venue of the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening and closing ceremonies were Taiwanese rockers Wu Bai, Chang Chen-yue, and Ashin, the lead singer from the Taiwanese rock band Mayday. Also performing were Taiwanese singers Chyi Chin, Kay Huang, Winnie Hsin, Tarcy Su, as well as Hong Kong's Karen Mok and Malaysia's Victor Wong.
