A former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in southeast Texas, Abby Johnson will visit Mid-Missouri on April 4-5.
Johnson will lead a training session on "sidewalk counseling" from 6-9 p.m. April 4 in Jefferson City at the Cathedral of St. Joseph undercroft, 2215 W. Main St. A cost of $25 will include a CD and workbook.
The techniques are designed to help anyone with the pro-life belief to express their views anywhere, not just standing in front of a Planned Parenthood office.
Johnson, who recently released the book "Unplanned," said she had a "change of heart" after watching an abortion in September 2009, quitting her job and joining the pro-life group, 40 Days for Life, which had been praying outside the facility.
Following a Pro-Life Action Day Rally at the Missouri Capitol on April 5 where Johnson will be the keynote speaker, she will sign books from 1:30-3 p.m. at the St. Peter Church Selinger Center, 212 Broadway.
