Ideas for proposed Jefferson City rec center emerge

The cost and scope of a proposed city-run multipurpose building is starting to become clearer, with as many as four basketball courts, an indoor aquatic leisure center and a construction pricetag of more than $22.9 million.

The Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Commission recently met with members of the park resources committee and the steering committee for the multipurpose building project, as well as a consultant with Ballard*King & Associates to discuss the project.

Consultant Darin Barr identified 10 features that residents said they would like to see in the building.
