If the weather cooperates, MoDOT officials said Thursday they hope to have the finishing touches done to the pedestrian and bike path on the northbound Missouri River Bridge by the April 1 deadline.

The official grand opening is now planned for 10:30 a.m. April 8.

Sidewalk work and the placement of barriers at the Main Street on ramp are some of the last things being done.

Work on the $6.7 million path began in May 2010. It was paid for by MoDOT, Jefferson City, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Missouri State Parks Foundation.
