Judge hears motion to suppress evidence in Bustamante case

"Evidence taken - case taken under advisement."

That's Cole County Presiding Circuit Judge Pat Joyce's docket entry, made Wednesday after the latest hearing in the Alyssa Bustamante case.

Court officials said Wednesday afternoon it might be up to two weeks before Joyce rules on the defense motion to suppress evidence that could be used in the case, when it comes to trial. But Joyce didn't announce any deadline for that ruling.

Bustamante, 17 - charged with first-degree murder for the Oct. 21, 2009, killing of Elizabeth Olten, 9 - was in Joyce's fourth-floor courtroom for the Wednesday afternoon hearing.
