A 17 year old Cole County man was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with a burglary at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4930 Old Lohman Road.
According to court information, Jared Hayes, 4900 Charm Oak Dr., was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of first-degree property damage.
According to sheriff's department reports, the incident occurred between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., Monday.
Hayes is believed to have forced his way into the building and did several thousand dollars worth of damage to the church. This included spray painting and blocking drains which led to flooding in the building.
The suspect is not a member of the church.
