OSAGE BEACH, Mo. - The Missouri Highway Patrol's Water Patrol Division will hold a hearing Monday in response to seven requests for No Wake buoys (idle speed) from Lake of the Ozarks area residents.
In addition to the local requests, the Water Patrol will also rule on several requests submitted by residents of other Missouri lakes.
The hearing, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Osage Beach City Hall, will give members of the public the opportunity to comment on the installation of the buoys at the requested locations.
A No Wake buoy is a floating marker at the mouth of a cove or near a shallow water or heavy traffic area that advises boaters they must keep their craft's engine at idle speed.
