Silver Haired Legislature members lobby on priorities

After approving them last fall, members of Missouri's Silver Haired Legislature came to the Capitol this week to lobby for their proposed law changes.

About 60 seniors visited with lawmakers Tuesday afternoon, after gathering for lunch and hearing brief messages from Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder and from Margaret Donnelly, Missouri's Health and Senior Services department director.

The SHL's mock legislature last October adopted five priority bills for the General Assembly's consideration this year, including: "To reinstate the core funding for the meals programs, which were cut drastically.
