The rising water of the Missouri River is steadily escaping its banks.

The current river level brings thoughts of the damage from the '93 flood back into the memories of residents and businesses that experienced the tragedy 18 years ago. But for those who have not yet lived through a "hundred-year" flood, the fear of those who have has influenced their preparations.

Opened by Scott Raithel in 2001, Nick's Family Restaurant is satisfied with its location in the Memorial Airport vicinity and undeterred by flooding of the past.
