Dozens of cars ransacked during St. Louis ballgame

ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police are trying to pinpoint who ransacked dozens of vehicles parked in the city's downtown during a weekend interleague game between the Cardinals and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Authorities say vandals and thieves forced their way into more than 60 vehicles during the game Friday night at Busch Stadium, then ransacked glove boxes and consoles. Many of the damaged vehicles were parked just south of the ballpark.

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay tells KMOX that his office has been working on improving security at downtown parking lots but says some of the private parking owners have resisted new regulations requiring better lighting and trash cans.
