Suspect Caught After Foot Pursuit

On Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Jefferson City Police were notified of an assault at Jefferson City High School. According to the victim and witnesses, the suspect pushed a JCHS staff member and then left the building. An officer assigned to the school approached the suspect and attempted to question him regarding the assault, at which time the suspect fled on foot. The officer gave foot chase, and, with the assistance of other responding officers, was able to take the suspect in custody in the 900 block of Jackson.

The suspect, an 18-year old Jefferson City male, was arrested for municipal charges of Assault 3rd degree and Resisting Arrest by Fleeing.

The victim was not hurt in the altercation.
