Jefferson City played host to a national competition this week for a sport that participants say is just as demanding as other sports such as baseball and basketball.
More than 85 competitors, representing 10 states, competed in the USA Roller Sports Figure Skating North Central Regional Championships.
Much like figure skating, the roller skaters compete in categories such as singles, pairs and dance. Among those competing at SK8 Zone were 14 local figure skaters.
