ST. LOUIS (AP) - Strong storms have hit several parts of Missouri, flipping a tractor-trailer and causing some other wind damage.
The National Weather Service did not have any immediate reports of tornadoes from the storms that began early Saturday. But tornado warnings were issued in several counties. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Ameren Corp. reported about power 1,500 outages in the St. Louis area.
In the Kansas City area, winds reached 70 mph. The weather service says a tractor-trailer flipped over on Interstate 70 in mid-Missouri's Montgomery County. A tree was blown over onto a car at Westminster College in Fulton.
Power lines were down in Monroe City in northeast Missouri, and large hail was reported near Hannibal. An electrical transformer caught fire in Hallsville, near Columbia.
