Panel recommends MSP Lafayette Street parking zone

Jefferson City's Traffic and Transportation Commissioners voted Wednesday to have the City Council set a four-hour time limit for parking on the new section of Lafayette Street, outside the new federal courthouse and Missouri State Penitentiary Redevelopment grounds.

Steve Picker, Convention and Visitors Bureau director, last month asked the city to consider the time limit, saying visitors to the former prison "cannot find parking and are becoming frustrated," since many current parking spaces "are occupied by construction workers all day."
