St. Louis area man charged in woman's death

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (AP) - A 20-year-old man has been charged in the death of a pregnant woman who was shot and killed while her young daughter was nearby.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Monday that Phillip Parish of Moline Acres is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action in the May 22 death of 20-year-old Tabitha Buckingham.

Police said Buckingham had been shot twice in the head and that her 2-year-old daughter was unharmed next to her when she was found. Police said child is with relatives.

Parish was being held in St. Louis County on $100,000 cash bail. Court records did not list a lawyer for Parish.
