The Jefferson City Lady Jays will complete their summer camp today, but if you think they're done working, think again.

In fact, the Lady Jays have barely taken any time off since the high-school season finished last November.

"Most of the older kids played club ball all through the spring season," Jefferson City coach Curt Yaeger said. "We also did a lot of weightlifting in the offseason, so they've been doing stuff pretty much nonstop.

"Some of them had basketball and a few of them ran track, but if they weren't involved in one of those two things, they were still doing something for us. So we've been busy since the first of the year, really."

This week's camp, which began Monday at Fleming Fieldhouse, included roughly 40-45 campers in the groups of kindergarten through fifth graders, grades 6-9 and grades 9-12.
