KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The National World War I Museum in Kansas City is expanding its hours this summer and adding events.

For the first time since the museum's 2006 grand opening, the attraction will be open seven days a week for the summer season. It will open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.

The museum says it's adding family friendly activities. Starting next week, World War I artifacts will be available for visitors to touch Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons. Families also can stop by the Museum Store and pick up a guide that includes a scavenger hunt.

Other events include a free lecture by the grandson of President Harry S. Truman. Clifton Truman Daniel will speak June 27 about his grandfather's presidential years and home life with his wife, Bess.
