SW Missouri businessman found shot to death

STELLA, Mo. (AP) - A southwest Missouri man is charged with shooting his landlord to death.

Sixty-year-old Danny K. Thomas was charged Thursday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 58-year-old Darrell Bone of Rocky Comfort.

Bone's body was found in the yard of a home he rented to Thomas north of Stella.

The Joplin Globe reports that Thomas told authorities Bone came to the house and threatened to kill him. Thomas said Bone was walking away when he shot him in the back, then shot him two more times in the face. Court records do not indicate a motive for the shooting.

Online court records also do not indicate if Thomas has an attorney.

Thomas was arrested after telling a friend about the shooting.
